Salary:

£60,000 to £70,000 depending on experience plus quarterly bonus, share option scheme, private healthcare, enhanced pension, etc.

Due to continued growth, my client is seeking an experienced Electronics PCB Design Engineer who will be part of a successful product design team. You will be responsible for the design and development of the electronics and printed-circuit assemblies for future products.

You will have significant electronics and multilayer PCB design experience working within a commercial environment, along with experience of using an enterprise-level PCB design tool such as Altium Designer or Cadence OrCAD/Allegro with the ability to work on multiple projects concurrently and respond to changing project priorities.

Candidate Skills

You will be qualified by experience in electronics, electrical engineering, or hold a diploma or degree in a related engineering discipline. Have a good understanding of PCB signal integrity, PCB stack-up, impedance control, ESD mitigation, and EMC compliance. Any knowledge of RF and FPGA design techniques along with GNSS and/or Automotive industry applications would be advantageous. A proven history in both analogue and digital layout and design for test and manufacture.

Duties

You will work closely with the product design team to determine PCB configurations, outlines, interfaces, and interconnects. Analogue and digital electronics design and PCB layout including circuit symbol and component footprint creation and component library management. Collaborate with colleagues to design PCB production test strategies and develop the necessary test platforms and fixtures and engage in firmware development. Generate and support technical documentation including PCB fabrication and assembly drawings, bills of materials, and manufacturing data. Collaborate with subcontractors to support PCB assembly and resolve PCB manufacturing issues. Hardware design verification, troubleshooting, and debugging, using oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, and other test equipment. Support colleagues in product assembly and test, customer support, and the creation of product documentation. Product EMC testing including working with test laboratories to agree on test plans, support product compliance testing, and resolve compliance issues. Organize and participate in, and document design reviews and regularly report project progress.
