Main duties of the job
In conjunction with colleagues, the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of nephrology illness in all patients; ensuring they are seen and managed.
Participation in the nephrology consultant rota, ensuring uncompromised cover for annual leave and other absences.
Provision of advice (through ward referrals) on nephrology cases admitted under the general.
Investigation and treatment of nephrologist outpatient referrals.
Commitment to maintaining your own continuing professional development (CPD) and lifelong learning, with support and time provided to keep up to date with annual CPD requirements.
Completion of the necessary administrative duties associated with the care of patients to a high standard.
Willingness to undertake additional professional responsibilities at local, regional or national levels.
Participation in the education and training of junior doctors, medical students, nurses, paramedics and general practitioners.
