Your role, and what you'll be doing:

In this role, reporting to the Systems Engineering Manager, you will oversee all engineering work within the SCADA and SISS portfolios throughout the entire project lifecycle. You'll work closely with Project and Commercial Managers, leading a team of Project Engineers from various technical disciplines, including SCADA, SISS, Electrification, and Plant and Civils Design. Your primary focus is the safe and timely delivery of projects within budget, adhering to customer, company, and industry standards. The role covers the full project lifecycle, from pre-qualification and bids to design, testing, installation, and handover. You'll ensure alignment with contract milestones, manage engineering resources, and ensure compliance with standards. Additionally, you'll own processes, conduct self-audits, and report to project and senior management, with potential involvement in hands-on engineering work when needed. You'll make an impact by:

Providing engineering input, estimates and review governance to PQQs and Bids for all portfolio opportunities. Managing the portfolio of project engineering work-packages across a number of projects, allocating engineering resources to work packages for the lifecycle of the project and ensuring these are delivered to time, quality, and cost parameters. Ensuring there is a consistent implementation of company engineering standards and processes along with measurement of performance against metrics as agreed with the Engineering Manager. Discharging safety responsibilities in relation to CDM Regulations, Health and Safety legislation, and Company procedures including development of the project Safety Plan. Acting in the role of Contractors' Responsible Engineer as directed. Your success will be grounded by:

A broad base of Engineering skills, experiences, knowledge and competencies covering the full Systems and Software engineering lifecycle, together with the requisite personal characteristics, to take responsibility for facilitating cross-disciplinary Engineering activity in complex, innovative and commercially challenging environments. Rail systems engineering experience of requirements specification engineering and management, design for robustness across the whole system lifecycle, safe-by-design, system integration and final verification. Strong leadership qualities who balances the needs of the customer, business and staff. Possesses personal drive, persuasive communication and negotiation skills, enthusiasm and is a catalyst for business success. Safety culture aware - to influence and develop an existing safety culture to latest generation thinking and practice. You'll benefit from:
