Secondment opportunity to work within the Safeguarding team at UHNM as the named nurse for safeguarding children and young people. The post holder will provide a Trust-wide overview of all children/young people safeguarding matters and co-ordinate all issues and processes concerning safeguarding. Main duties of the job

Provide a Trust-wide overview of all children/young people safeguarding matters, co-ordinating all issues and processes concerning safeguarding, providing specialist advice and information. Contribute to the development of internal safeguarding policies, guidelines, and protocols. Effectively communicate local safeguarding knowledge, research, and findings from audits and challenge poor practice. Facilitate and contribute to internal audits, multi-agency audits, and statutory inspections. Organise, plan, and deliver Safeguarding training to staff across UHNM. Undertake/contribute to serious case/case management reviews, including the development and implementation of action plans. Work with colleagues across the trust and from other organisations, including the Police, the Local Authority, the Local Safeguarding Children's Boards (LSCB), and other LSCB partners. Identify and support safeguarding supervision and reflective practice for staff across the Trust. Participate in LSCB sub-groups, as directed by the Lead Nurse - Safeguarding. Support safeguarding quality assurance and improvement processes. Participate in risk assessments of the organisation’s ability to safeguard/protect children and young people. Person specification

Qualifications

Diploma or degree in nursing studies. ENB 997/998 or equivalent or experience of teaching in clinical areas. Leadership/management course. Experience

Minimum of 3 years post-registration experience. 1 year experience in a leadership role. Formal teaching experience. Experience in Safeguarding/complex cases. Other skills
