Senior Biomedical Scientist Histology - Tunbridge Wells Hospital | Permanent Contract | Full Time - 37.5 hours per week | Salary up to £41,000.00 per annum (depending on experience) Main duties of the job

As a Senior Biomedical Scientist Histology, you will: Have in depth knowledge of Histology to support the training and development of other staff members. Carry out and oversee routine histology practices including dissection, microtomy, embedding, manual coverslipping, troubleshooting, validation of reagents and participation in NEQAS. Keep records of specimens, results, reagents, and consumables. Support the organisation in validating and assessing new histology equipment. You will have the opportunity to undertake a management qualification/higher specialist in cell path if desired. Assist in the maintenance and improve quality management systems required for UKAS accreditation. About us

As a Senior Biomedical Scientist at our Tunbridge Wells Hospital, you'll bring the relevant qualifications and laboratory experience in Histology and multidisciplinary biomedical science. You have a good working knowledge of different analytical equipment in a range of techniques. You're also a natural communicator and team player, sharing our commitment to quality. Minimum Requirements

To be HCPC registered. Relevant laboratory experience in histology with multi-disciplinary biomedical science. Extensive histology experience, with knowledge to accompany this at specialist diploma level. Good working knowledge of different histological techniques, ideally with dissection experience. Good understanding of laboratory processes and day-to-day running of a laboratory. The ability to maintain good customer relationships and provide high levels of service in a modern pathology laboratory. Highly motivated and enthusiastic individual able to multi-task and meet deadlines. Disclosure and Barring Service Check
