Working knowledge of design standards in accordance with British Standards, Design Manual for Roads and Bridges, Sewerage Sector Guidance, etc. to successfully deliver projects for our clients. Implement internal QMS procedures and ensure all designs comply with the company’s internal checking protocols. Undertake coordination with other professionals and contractors as appropriate, and organise your time to ensure timely delivery of projects. Work independently on smaller projects, or as part of a team on more significant schemes. Commercial delivery of projects ensuring timescales and budgets are met. Collaborative working with other company offices. In addition to design tasks, you may be required to supervise trial hole investigations and undertake visual inspections. Assist in mentoring less experienced Engineers. Liaise with Clients and other members of the design team to ensure designs meet the Client brief, including attendance at design team meetings/site meetings as required. Actively engage in business development where appropriate. Input into fee proposals where necessary. When required, assist with the project management of design projects of all sizes, including commercial delivery of projects, ensuring timescales and budgets are met. Role Requirements
Good knowledge of all relevant British Standards and Design Codes. Designs will be produced by hand calculation or using Design Software as appropriate to the nature and magnitude of the project, and to underpin this you will be expected to have a sound grasp of Engineering Principles. Have a sound understanding of technical design packages including Civil 3D, Info Drainage, etc. to support the design process. Good IT skills including a basic understanding of AutoCAD and Word. Full driving licence and use of a car. Qualifications
Preferred
Completion of Degree in relevant Engineering subject. Minimum 5 years experience working in similar engineering consultancy. Working towards and close to achieving membership of relevant Professional Institution i.e. Incorporated or Chartered Member of ICE. Benefits package:
