Corporate IS Network Operations Are you interested in technology and enjoy designing networking solutions that keep a leading global tech company functioning? What You Will Do As a Senior Network Engineer within Trimble, you will be a member of a global, corporate networking team. You will be responsible for assisting with network design, implementation, and operation of the company’s internal worldwide communications systems, including local area networks (LANs), wide area networks (WANs), and wireless networking. You will act as network lead for your designated geographical region which includes: planning, designing, and implementing networked systems. This will involve troubleshooting and maintaining both in-house and vendor network connections including configurations, supporting/troubleshooting network problems, and coordinating with vendors for installation of such items as direct internet access (DIA) circuits, MPLS circuits as well as configuring routers, switches, wireless access points, and other devices or technologies as required. Additionally, you will provide training, assist with proposal writing, and take responsibility for project planning, cost analysis, and vendor comparisons. You will also have occasional on-call duties and may need to travel from time to time. Manage and execute networking projects

Design and/or implement networking solutions based on business requirements

Design, implement, and support wireless networking

Operational support and incident resolution

Innovate ways to scale with automation and operational improvements

Work with a team to design, implement, and support Trimble's network infrastructure at its data centers and global sites

Develop and maintain standard configurations, procedures, and guidelines for installing and operating voice & data services

Participate in capacity planning and technology reviews with the Network Infrastructure team

Maintain the network infrastructure to high levels of availability with basic and expedited support to resolve networking-related issues

Interface with ISPs and carriers to install/commission/test new WAN/Internet circuits at remote sites, as well as interface with vendors to identify hardware & software requirements to meet business requirements

Design, manage, and maintain wireless networks.

What Skills & Experience You Should Bring Along with being a team player, possessing excellent written and verbal English skills, and a willingness to learn and continue your education, you should have most of the following: Proven competence in the development, implementation, and maintenance of complex network systems with 10+ years’ experience in a networking enterprise environment

Advanced Skills in at least three of the following areas: Routing, Switching, Firewall, Cloud Networking, or WiFi 3+ years of wireless network design experience. Experience in Aerohive/Extreme is greatly preferred

BS or BA degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering, or equivalent education, training, or work experience

Experience with global enterprise networks is greatly preferred

Certifications or equivalent, demonstrated experience: Cisco CCNP, CCNP Routing and Switching, or CCNP Wireless preferred

Other industry certifications/training are greatly desired (examples, CEH, CISSP, MCP, etc.)

Experience with several of the following technologies in design/implement/troubleshooting capacity is essential: LAN: Switching - Cisco IOS/Nexus OS, VLANs, STP/RSTP, CoS, QoS, Ether-channel/Trunking, etc. Experience with Cisco routers and switches is required, experience with Dell and HP switches desired

Routing: BGP, EIGRP, HSRP or VRRP, PBR, NHRP, etc.

WAN: MPLS, MetroEthernet, etc.

VPN Solutions

Network Management and WAN Optimization: Load balancing/Acceleration experience desired. Working knowledge of Silver Peak SD-WAN highly solutions desired

Authentication solutions including Cisco ACS/RADIUS/TACACS/Certificates (PKI) (greatly desired)

Network troubleshooting using packet capture and analysis using tools such as Wireshark

Experience with SolarWinds monitoring Solutions; Administration experience with SolarWinds monitoring solutions is greatly preferred

Proven experience in setting up new site networks, including racking, installing, configuring LAN/WAN/VoIP hardware/circuits, testing/troubleshooting network connectivity/ performance, and documentation

Network security experience desired

Solid knowledge of public Cloud infrastructure such as Microsoft Azure or Amazon Web Services

Extensive experience with Ansible and/or Python automating networking devices (Preferred)

Familiarity with source control tools such as Git for working in a collaborative environment (Preferred)
