Your new company A manufacturing business based in Chesterfield is seeking a skilled Financial/Management Accountant to join them on a permanent basis.

Your new role The successful candidate will be responsible for producing and owning the monthly management accounts, and control of the balance sheet. This includes overseeing the period-end management accounts processes and authorising final accounts, which involve comprehensive balance sheet analysis and reconciliation between cost of sales and client invoicing.

Additionally, the candidate will prepare, analyse, and communicate monthly financial performance to key management and stakeholders, providing detailed analysis of actual figures.

They will also prepare and present the Profit & Loss statements and Balance Sheets. This is a stand-alone finance role - other responsibilities may include various ad hoc management information tasks and transactional work.

Furthermore, the candidate will continuously seek to improve planning, reporting, control, and other management accounting processes.

The successful candidate should anticipate becoming actively involved in shaping the commercial future of the business, extending their responsibilities beyond traditional accounting tasks. This involvement will include contributing to strategic business decisions and initiatives that drive growth and innovation, thereby playing a key role in the overall success of the company.

What you'll need to succeed The ideal candidate will have prior experience in a management accountant role and possess advanced skills in Excel and other IT applications. Demonstrate strong planning and organisational abilities, as well as effective presentation and communication skills. Strong analytical and commercial awareness are crucial. Plan and manage their own workload efficiently, establishing and maintaining effective working relationships. Working towards a financial qualification such as CIMA, ACCA, or AAT. What you'll get in return Salary up to c. £45,000, will be reviewed depending on experience and qualifications. 37.5 hours a week. Progression opportunities. Office-based role.
