Flexible day rate for the right candidate iO Associates are working with a well-known Defence Technology Consultancy who are looking to bring in a Technical Support Consultant who has
recent and demonstrable experience within the technology aspects of the FCAS (Future Combat Air System) programmes. Specifically, we're looking for a consultant to join the team and provide
technical expertise on the integrated sensors and resulting data from the sensor suite
of the 6th generation FCAS, by utilising understanding of the existing 5th generation and future 6th generation jet. Key Role Details: Inform / challenge / review industry scoping work Coordinate with MOD stakeholders to ensure the work aligns with strategic intent Support industry interface with the customer and the end user to ensure that solution concepts and development/evaluation approach are appropriate to capability need Provide regular feedback and reviews on industry delivery Statements of Work and related “bid” activity Task schedules (inc. coherence with wider programme) Presentations to stakeholders Prototype designs and concepts of analysis Evaluations of effectiveness Identify risks, issues and opportunities, and provide support to mitigate/exploit as appropriate Build and maintain interfaces with related tasks within FCAS as well as the UK Research Programme Build and maintain own SQEP in key areas as required Experience and Pre-requisites: Strong knowledge of the Typhoon and Tempest Air Operational Capabilities (e.g. observables, sensors, kinetic and non-kinetic effectors; defensive aids and countermeasures) Threat environment and threat systems Mission planning; generation of mission data sets Software architect approaches inc. open systems architectures Human factors integration; 5th-gen and envisaged 6th-gen cockpit design Active MoD DV Clearance, last used within 12 months This role requires the successful applicant to hold active MoD / UKSV DV Clearance.
