Payroll Manager - Fully Remote Are you a seasoned senior payroll professional with a passion for precision, compliance, and leadership? W&A are assisting a client in their search for an experienced Payroll Manager to oversee payroll operations for a team of 1,700 PAYE employees. This is a fully remote role, offering the opportunity to lead a dedicated team while driving process improvements and maintaining the highest standards of compliance. You will lead a pivotal function, ensuring smooth payroll operations while shaping the future of our clients payroll systems and processes. Key Responsibilities: Manage a team of payroll administrators / junior payroll staff Oversee the preparation, review, and reporting of the monthly payroll process Ensure timely and accurate HMRC submissions and payroll reconciliations Maintain compliance with tax regulations, payroll legislation, and company policies Mentor team members to foster growth and technical proficiency Lead payroll-related projects, including system upgrades and process improvements Serve as the primary contact for audit queries and external auditors Handle payroll-related employee queries with professionalism and efficiency Maintain strong stakeholder relationships with internal departments and external partners About You: Proven experience managing or supervising a payroll team in a similar-sized business Strong technical payroll expertise and up-to-date knowledge of industry standards Demonstrated ability to mentor, lead, and develop team members Experience processing manual payroll and driving system automation Proficient with payroll systems and numerical analysis Skilled in handling payroll system upgrades and managing change with minimal disruption High ethical standards and ability to manage sensitive data with confidentiality Please note:
