We are looking for someone with a strong creative background and a passion for automotive design. Someone interested in challenging perceptions and pushing the boundaries of Interior Design into exciting new directions. As an Advanced Interior Designer, your role is to see the future - researching, designing and creating compelling design proposals. We are looking for someone with a minimum of 4 years of experience in automotive design, with experience in the advanced side of the process giving you a competitive edge. Building on a deep understanding of customer, brand and strategy, you will generate innovative ideas and interior design concepts for automotive products and be able to present these with emotional, inspiring and compelling design sketches/renderings. You will have experience in working through the design process in 3D, from sketch to final data release. Specific experience with Clay is useful but not essential. You must have exceptional visualization skills and be able to communicate your ideas to an audience - you have no problem refining your ideas as you receive feedback. Requirements, Skills & Abilities: This role is categorized as ‘On-Site’ and you will normally be expected to work full time in studio. Candidates are required to have a Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant design discipline (Automotive Design, Industrial Design, Product Design, Exterior Design, Graphic Design or Architecture). 4+ years of professional work experience in automotive design, preferably with international experience at OEM studios or design houses, with interest to work in the US in the future. Superb 2D and 3D presentation skills, and confidence to present in internal and external settings. Experience collaborating with branding, UI/UX, CMF and engineering teams. Consistent desire for improvement and to question the status quo. English language to a professional working level, including technical terms. You thrive in a team environment - at GMADE we fully embrace new ways of working and encourage working in a highly collaborative, cross-functional way. You should be flexible and open to broadening your scope of work; you may be assigned additional duties in support of design. If you are driven and eager to learn, grow and achieve your creative potential, take your next step in joining a world-class design studio at General Motors! Candidates must submit a portfolio (or link to online portfolio) demonstrating recent design work.
