Electrical Engineer - Design Authority**

**Key Responsibilities:**
- Deliver technical excellence in the specification, production, and assessment of design packages for infrastructure. - Specify reliability and operational constraints for infrastructure. - Assess work control procedures for infrastructure maintenance. - Evaluate infrastructure design, material state, qualification, and ageing mechanisms to ensure continued operation. - Uphold a robust safety and security culture. - Ensure safety-related contract outputs meet all requirements by acting as an intelligent customer.
**Essential Experience and Skills:**
- Broad experience in electrical engineering, preferably with exposure to HV/MV distribution, LV distribution, protection systems, C&I systems, electrical machines, frequency changers, and diesel alternators. - Experience in the nuclear industry or other high-hazard industries is advantageous but not essential. - Ability to provide practical, creative, and cost-effective solutions for design changes and modifications. - Strong understanding of British and international design standards. - Proven track record of making intelligent, evidence-based decisions using various data sources. - Excellent verbal and written communication skills. - Ability to effectively manage and prioritise workload.
**Qualifications and Training:**
- **Essential**: HNC or equivalent qualifications and experience in a relevant engineering discipline. Detailed knowledge of the Design Intent for Electrical Infrastructure in the nuclear or similar industry. - **Desirable**: Incorporated Engineer status or equivalent experience and standing. Degree or equivalent qualifications and experience in a relevant engineering discipline.
This is a hybrid role with three days per week spent at the client site.
