We are looking for a Software Engineer for our client based North Cambridge. This is a varied role for an experienced Test Engineer to join a busy and expanding team.
This job involves some travelling, so the successful applicant will have a full, clean driving licence and their own car. Travel expenses will be paid. This role may require Security Clearance in the future.
Responsibilities:
Writing, maintaining, and executing Test cases. Testing of software solutions/applications to ensure that the developed products meet the requirements. Reading and understanding requirements documentation. Providing estimated timescales for the testing of requirements. Producing and maintaining appropriate documentation for tracking quality metrics.
Requirements: Formal qualification (Degree) in Computing Science or equivalent experience. 2+ years' experience of commercial software testing. ISTQB certification (preferable). Knowledge of Agile methodologies. High level of communication skills and technical understanding. Ability to communicate with core software development team to understand solution behaviour and explain fault details. Critical eye for detail. Capability of delivering critical feedback without damaging relationships. Ability to be outspoken when projects are producing sub-standard output. Working knowledge of source code management technologies. Knowledge of software development/issue tracking systems (e.g. Jira, etc.). Experience with automated test frameworks (e.g. Selenium, Cypress, etc.). Experience with web service technologies (e.g. SOAP, REST, JSON, etc.).
