Our client

We are currently supporting a long-standing client of ours who is looking for an Electrical Design Manager to join their fast-growing business. They partner with a number of highly reputable organisations all over the world, from Central London through to Dubai, providing electrical services across the healthcare and hospitality sectors. This role would suit an individual who has experience in the electrical design or lighting industry and an understanding of product development from initial layout design/prototype through to final introduction to the consumer market.

Job description

Be the point of contact for all product technical issues and queries to support the product development and analysis teams. Work with the install and contracting teams regarding installations. Support an established team of 4 with the day-to-day management of electrical projects for clients by understanding ideas and gaining a thorough understanding of the clients' expectations. Ensure that new products going to the consumer market are developed with the rigor and quality required to be the best in the market, consistent with their reputation for high-quality products. Ensure that development projects follow a structured development lifecycle with appropriate stages, checkpoints, production engineering, and handover to production. Work alongside the team to ensure that appropriate testing and certification to British and European technical and safety standards are integral to new product development. Carry out compliance duties in line with British and European technical and safety standards, including staying up to date with changes and ensuring timely re-testing and re-certification as necessary.

Key skills and requirements

Electrical design product knowledge with appropriate City & Guilds or BNQ Qualifications. Knowledge of electrical regulations and compliance. Hands-on experience with testing of products. Project and people management skills.
