Create impact as a Manager, Control Assurance.

About the Role

In this exciting role, you will play a key part in enabling effective risk management practices within the Technology and Operations divisions. You will take personal responsibility for developing and executing on a control assurance plan for T&O that provides insight into the effectiveness of controls and treatment plans for key risks within the T&O.

Collaboration with 2nd Line Risk will be essential to understand the requirements of IAG’s Risk Management Framework, including policies and standards. Additionally, you will work with assurance functions across the Three Lines of Accountability to optimise assurance activities to provide divisional leadership with a broad view of the effectiveness of the control environment. Under your leadership, remediation plans for control gaps or weaknesses will be developed that enable the continuous improvement in the effectiveness of the control environment and achievement of target risk maturity.

Facilitating the delivery of IT audits, conducted by IAG’s external auditors, and ad-hoc assurance reviews will also be crucial. This involves coordinating with T&O business units, overseeing the development of responses to audit/assurance observations, and reporting progress and issues to T&O leadership. Developing and maintaining knowledge of relevant regulations (such as CPS220, CPS230, CPS231, CPS232, CPS234, and CPG235), and monitoring both the internal and external environments for risk events and emerging risks, will be essential to provide insight into the T&O control environment. You will lead an established, highly engaged team, distributed across metro AU and NZ locations, and continue the focus on knowledge growth and development. Balancing compliance with IAG’s Group Risk Framework and available capacity and capability within the Control Assurance team will be one of your key challenges. This is a permanent role, and we welcome applicants from the East Coast of Australia or any of our major centres in New Zealand.
