Senior Technical Officer (Environment) / Technical Officer (Commercial) / Technical Officer (Residential)

What will you be doing?
As part of our professional team you will be working individually and as part of a team to improve the health and wellbeing of the residents, visitors and workers in East Hertfordshire.
Your work will involve liaising with a range of individuals and businesses to investigate complaints, inspect premises and ensure compliance with applicable legislation.
You will support senior officers and members with technical enquiries, including representing the team at committee meetings and external meetings.
Where appropriate you will take the lead on instigating a range of enforcement actions, including prosecutions.
About you
As an ideal candidate, you will have:
A relevant qualification or experience within the discipline applied for and a working knowledge of the legislation and regulations relating to those areas.
The ability to deal with challenging situations using tact and discretion.
Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to work without supervision, prioritise work to meet deadlines.
Excellent written skills, with the ability to write schedules of work, summarise accurately and convey complex information.
