My client is a highly successful FMCG business. Due to continued growth and recent investment, they are seeking an experienced Automation Engineer to join their engineering team. The Automation Engineer's responsibilities within the Maintenance department are: all automation equipment on site, including PLCs, inverters, servers, etc., and general maintenance of the management systems.

Position Summary:

Support the startup of new automation systems by ensuring code and configurations meet specifications and validation requirements. Effective management of the factory PLC, SCADA, and IT Network systems, ensuring targets for availability and data integrity are met, and compliance with business standards and audits are maintained. Create user documentation and procedures for new systems, commissioning, and start-up. Provide guidance and support in diagnosing and resolving difficult automation hardware, software, instrument, and process problems to maintain system readiness. Ensure all technical documentation (signs, tagging, P&ID, electrical drawings, manuals) are kept up to date and available for all engineers. Retrieve supporting data from automation systems to support production or quality department requests.

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications: HNC/HND, Engineering or related subject area. Proven experience in FMCG automation or controls systems automation. PLC automation control system start-ups, loop tuning, and control system modifications. Development of process control systems or equipment control applications using PLC ladder and function block logic. Equivalent combinations of education, training, and relevant work experience may be considered. Knowledge of Lean and Six Sigma methodologies.
