About The Role

We are looking for a 2nd Line Network Engineer to join our team; based in our ISOC (Intercity’s Secure Operations Centre), to support the managed services customer’s networks using Intercity’s system management toolsets and processes. As a Network Engineer you will provide second line support in the ISOC and ensure the continuous smooth operation of the network service. The hours of work are on a rota basis that covers 24x7x365. As a 2nd Line Network Engineer, you will be responsible for:

Remote support and identifying issues affecting customers systems and services, followed by performing a 2nd line diagnosis with a view to resolution. Be able to work without continuous supervision and be trusted to provide professional support services to Intercity customers. To be able to self-educate and attain industry standard IT accreditation. Liaise with clients to analyse, review, identify and develop relationships to meet/exceed customer needs. Contribute to the highest levels of prospect and customer satisfaction. Make recommendations on improvements to Intercity services and service quality. Key Skills And Experience

A minimum of one year’s experience providing security solutions in a technical support role. CCNA or equivalent. Be familiar with the primary function of networking equipment (e.g. Routers, Switches, Firewalls and wide area communications). Awareness of some of the following vendor products; Check Point, Juniper, Cisco, Extreme, Aruba, Exinda. Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills. IT degree is desirable but not essential. What We Can Offer You
