The charity currently funds around 1,800 local charities and projects across the UK working with children and young people facing disadvantage across the UK. Child poverty is the most critical issue facing children and young people in the UK today and for BBC Children in Need, it is a key priority. Main Responsibilities

This is an ambitious, deep and complex national programme with multiple stakeholders but also hugely exciting in its potential. We are now seeking a strong leader to manage and deliver this programme, within our wider portfolio of work on child poverty.

You will build and maintain strong relationships with our strategic partners providing funding for us to deliver the Child Poverty Impact programme and you will work to ensure that this is delivered to the highest of standards, leading a small focused team.

Reporting into the Director of Impact - Grants, you will collaborate across the charity, working closely with the Director of Impact and Influence, other grant-making teams within the Impact Directorate and colleagues from Insight, Content, Commercial, Finance and Operations to deliver maximum impact for children and young people.

To strategically lead, direct and manage the Child Poverty Impact Programme as part of the UK wide impact leadership team. To take a lead role within the Impact Directorate; supporting on the development of strategic planning and implementation. To act as a UK-wide ambassador for BBC CiN, building and developing strategic alliances with the children, young people and funding sector, to increase the local impact and effectiveness of BBC CiN activities. To identify, build and develop key external strategic alliances to support to develop and enhance BBC CiN's ability to deliver the child poverty impact programme. To effectively lead, manage and develop the CPIP team. This is a permanent role, with the flexibility to be based from any principal BBC office location across the UK alongside hybrid working. Ability to combine strategic thinking with operational delivery. Experience of complex national project management. Experience of strategic and/or operational grant making. Experience of programme design and development and/or leading project management in relation to funding programmes. Ability to manage multiple complex relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Experience of leading a team at a senior level. Evidence of ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of stakeholders. Ability to develop connections at all levels across different sectors in order to advocate and promote the importance of the work. Evidence of creativity and agility in response to the unexpected. Ability to work independently and to use initiative responsibly. About the BBC
