Head of Vehicle Architecture
to join our highly skilled and dynamic Engineering team. The role will operate in a hybrid capacity out of our offices in Leamington Spa, Warwickshire, where the successful candidate will have the opportunity to work alongside some of the most visionary minds in the automotive field. Reporting to the
Director of Architecture & Concepts , your role will be to manage and balance the project resource to deliver engineering solutions that meet the product requirements, targets, and aspirations with robust benchmarking and first principle engineering studies. You will guide a small team in defining a common direction for the Architecture and ensure these are aligned to the company aspirations. What you will do: Manage and report progress on Hardpoint & Concept Sections to deliver true value and uniqueness. Assist with the generation of Master Models and Hardpoints at the Early Stage of Products. Manage the handover from Architecture to Commodity & Package Teams. Escalate and present incompatibilities between aspiration, target, design, and package where required with possible solutions for informed decision-making. Liaise with the Product team to understand future vehicles, variants, and sub-systems. Liaise with Concept to understand Pre-KO Studies and agreements with Design/R&D/Product had prior to Project KO. Generate Concept sections to support the transition to the wider engineering team. Plan and maintain progress in improving personal professional competence. Ensure that your technical knowledge and expertise are kept up to date. Use knowledge of component engineering to suggest design solutions. Ensure designs meet all relevant safety and regulatory requirements and are formally verified to meet these and other specifications (performance, cost). Maintain pro-active liaison between Styling, Design, Engineering to ensure effective project communication. Who you are: Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent experience. Engineering experience across a number of commodity groups ideally powertrain, interior, structures, chassis, exterior, BIW, or electrical in an automotive OEM or Tier 1 supplier. Proven experience in package / concept / Architecture. Understanding of concept, package, and integration in an automotive environment. Excellent project and stakeholder management. Catia V5 or similar system design experience is essential. Competence in reviewing engineering solutions. Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
