York and Scarborough Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust is delighted to invite candidates to apply to work with us as a Consultant in Paediatrics at Scarborough Hospital. We will work with the successful candidate in order to develop a unique and ideal job plan to suit the individual's needs. The post will involve opportunities to work across other sites within the Trust - in particular York, and will have some teaching and supervision responsibilities in respect of specialty trainees. Main duties of the job

The Trust is looking for candidates with general paediatric experience who are interested in helping to develop our existing services and be part of a forward-thinking, innovative Paediatric team. The post is flexible, and we would be happy to accommodate special interests; this is an exciting opportunity to develop new or existing specialist areas. This post includes a 1:8 non-resident on-call rota. We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic generalist paediatrician with solid neonatal skills, who enjoys working in beautiful rural and coastal Scarborough. You will be able to provide all aspects of paediatric and neonatal care and develop a subspecialty interest. We provide initial stabilisation for critically ill children and neonates with the support of our emergency medicine and anaesthetic colleagues, our dedicated paediatric and neonatal Embrace transport team, and regional tertiary teams. There is excellent on-call family accommodation close to the hospital if needed. About us

We are the largest provider of healthcare in the region and we are incredibly proud of our 8,500 staff, working across 9 hospital sites. Our mission is to be a valued and trusted partner within our care system, delivering safe effective care to the population we serve. We're situated in a fantastic part of the country: home to two national parks, a beautiful coastline, and the city of York, which is consistently voted one of the best places to live in the UK. In joining the Trust, you will have access to a wide range of staff benefits including health and wellbeing support, finance schemes, and discounts. There is also a competitive relocation package of up to £18,000. To support your learning and development, you will be entitled to a study leave budget of £3,000 across three years, along with support from our learning and development team. The Trust also offers an extra 2 days annual leave for consultants on top of the existing allowance as detailed in the 2008 - Consultant Terms and Conditions. More information can be found on the Trust's website in the 'Working for Us' section. Job responsibilities
