We are looking for a legal professional who has experience of working in children and family law to join our growing legal team. As a national charity, we represent children throughout England and Wales and are looking to recruit nationally with agile working. We have offices in Birkenhead, Birmingham, and Cardiff. Working alongside a NYAS independent social worker, you will provide legal advice and representation of children and young people in private law proceedings. You will perform the duties of a qualified solicitor, CILEX or barrister, ensuring that all documentation filed by the courts meets NYAS standards and court timescales and is within scope for payment by the Legal Aid Agency. In your application, you will need to evidence, using specific examples, how your skills and experience meet the criteria laid out in the person specification, within the job description attached. You will need to have knowledge of the Children Act and other legislation relating to children and family law; have the ability to conduct your own advocacy and communicate to a high standard both orally and in writing to a wide range of people, maintaining professionalism at all times. To comply with NYAS’s Safeguarding and Child Protection Policy, candidates will be subject to an enhanced DBS check, references, and a Digital Risk Assessment.
