As a Technical Product Manager at Sandvik Ground Support, you will play a crucial role in driving innovation and product development for our underground mining equipment and automation systems. You'll be responsible for bridging the gap between engineering teams and business requirements, ensuring our products meet the evolving needs of the mining industry while maintaining Sandvik's position as a global leader in mining technology. About our Organisation Sandvik Ground Support Division is one of Australia’s largest, leading manufacturers, suppliers and exporters of specialist strata reinforcement and support products to the underground coal and metalliferous mining sectors. Sandvik Ground Support Division also provides galvanising and other related services to the mining, civil, marine, commercial, and industrial industries. About the Role Based at either our Brisbane or Newcastle site and reporting to the National Sales Manager – Coal, the Technical Product Manager will be responsible for overseeing and developing the ground support product line for underground coal mining operations in Australia. This role requires a deep understanding of underground coal mining practices, ground support technologies, and product management principles to drive innovation and growth in the critical area of mine safety and productivity. The duties and responsibilities associated with this role will include, but are not limited to: Develop and execute a comprehensive product strategy for ground support solutions in underground coal mining. Identify market opportunities and customer needs to guide product development initiatives. Conduct thorough market research to understand industry trends, competitor offerings, and customer requirements. Develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders in the Australian underground coal mining sector. Serve as the subject matter expert on ground support technologies and applications in underground coal mining. Monitor and analyse product performance metrics to ensure customer satisfaction and product reliability. Develop and manage product line budgets and forecasts. About You We are seeking an experienced professional with a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mining Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, or a related field and a minimum of 8 years of experience in underground coal mining. To succeed in this role, you will have at least 5 years of expertise in ground support technologies and a proven track record in product management or a similar role within the mining industry. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong leadership in managing cross-functional teams and overseeing long-term, complex projects.
