Position Summary

These positions are responsible for the treatment, security, and general living conditions of all Persons in Our Care assigned to the Institution and directs an institution and department-wide programs. In addition to being responsible for activities within their section, this position assists with the development, implementation, and monitoring of overall security, goals, policies, and procedures of the institution, including central control, the armory, towers, perimeter, program areas, visiting, reception, training, mail, and property.

Salary Information

The starting pay is between $65395 and $110822 per year, plus excellent benefits. Pay will be set in accordance with the Compensation Plan and Wisconsin Administrative Code in effect at the time of hire. The pay schedule/range is 81-02. A two-year Career Executive trial period is required.

Job Details

Applicants must be legally entitled to work in the United States (i.e., a citizen or national of the U.S., a lawful permanent resident, an alien authorized to work in the U.S. without DOC sponsorship) at the time of application. The Department of Corrections will conduct criminal background checks on applicants prior to selection to determine whether the circumstances of any conviction may be related to the job being filled. Upon hire, all new DOC employees are subject to fingerprinting.

The Department of Corrections may conduct pre-employment drug screens. Any applicant who is offered employment in a position which requires a pre-employment drug screen must pass the screen as a contingency to employment.

NOTE: This position is NOT eligible to work remotely

Qualifications

Minimally qualified applicants will have experience:

Developing, implementing, and monitoring policies and procedures for a 24/7 operation Supervising staff (e.g. hiring, training, assigning and directing work, performance evaluations, etc.) Working collaboratively with a multi-disciplinary team in a correctional setting Directing, implementing, and evaluating security standards In addition to the Acceptable, well qualified applicant will have experience:
