See Through News’s network of community Facebook Groups forms the foundation of our strategy to nudge large numbers of ordinary people into effective climate action. In less than two years, STN has acquired a reach of half a million people, largely via its Facebook groups, and is set to pass a million by 2025. This role implements STN’s proven zero-budget strategy, helps manage the network’s exponential growth, and refines and improves it as it expands by: growing and nurturing groups recruiting and training volunteer moderators from the groups as they grow supervising our current team of around 20 moderators worldwide (currently only in English-speaking countries). You don’t have to be a Facebook expert, but you soon will be. Skills
Familiarity with the etiquette and dynamics of social media (we can train you in Facebook-specific skills) Clear, courteous, friendly written communication for responding to community group members. Good internal communication with STN’s volunteer moderators and strategy team. Opportunity to take initiative to establish new groups, expand into new geographical and topic areas, and streamline operations. See Through News are climate activists with the goal of ‘Speeding Up Carbon Drawdown by Helping the Inactive Become Active’. Our work combines sophisticated storytelling with hard science, leveraging social media’s free infrastructure to measurably reduce carbon. For volunteers seeking experience, STN’s global network of pro bono experts offers exceptional mentoring opportunities in a broad range of fields, including journalism, social media, marketing, SEO, filmmaking, music, podcasts, carbon accounting, climate activism, IT, graphic design, games, and AI. See Through News is an arm of the climate action network, the See Through Group, with a global reach of 500K, expected to pass 1M by 2025. Teams of international experts match technical skills (IT, AI, data analysis, carbon accounting) with storytelling skills (filmmaking, music, other content creation).
