Austin, Texas, United States; Mountain View, California, United States; Remote, United States HeartFlow, Inc. is a medical technology company advancing the diagnosis and management of coronary artery disease, the #1 cause of death worldwide, using cutting-edge technology. The flagship product—an AI-driven, non-invasive cardiac test supported by the ACC/AHA Chest Pain Guidelines called the HeartFlow FFR CT Analysis—provides a color-coded, 3D model of a patient’s coronary arteries indicating the impact blockages have on blood flow to the heart. HeartFlow is the first AI-driven non-invasive integrated heart care solution across the CCTA pathway that helps clinicians identify stenoses in the coronary arteries (RoadMap Analysis), assess coronary blood flow (FFR CT Analysis), and characterize and quantify coronary atherosclerosis (Plaque Analysis). Our pipeline of products is growing and so is our team; join us in helping to revolutionize precision heart care. HeartFlow is a VC-backed company that has received international recognition for exceptional strides in healthcare innovation, is supported by medical societies around the world, cleared for use in the US, UK, Europe, Japan, and Canada, and has been used for more than 350,000 patients worldwide. Why this team?

The product and design team at HeartFlow is tasked with creatively discovering and relentlessly delivering novel, AI-powered software solutions that help our cardiologist and radiologist customers serve heart patients with greater speed, accuracy, and efficiency. This team is responsible for HeartFlow's entire FDA-approved product portfolio that includes FFRct, Roadmap analysis, and Plaque Analysis. We also design and manage software tools used internally for case processing, customer service, and R&D. What you’ll focus on:

Research and Discovery:

Conduct in-depth user research and discovery processes, focusing on novel clinical solutions for cardiologists. This will involve utilizing UX research methods, user interviews, and data analysis to deeply understand user needs and pain points. Collaborative Design Iteration:

Partner with product, engineering, and other cross-functional stakeholders to define, refine, and iterate on those solutions. This includes conducting design reviews to gather feedback and ensure alignment. You’ll leverage tools like Figma, design systems, and prototyping software to create functional, user-centered design deliverables. Design Specifications and Prototypes for web-based designs:

Deliver detailed UI specifications for a web-app to engineering teams, ensuring a seamless transformation of ideas into code. This includes creating high-fidelity designs and coded prototypes that communicate the vision clearly and are ready for implementation. What you will do day-to-day:

Conduct User Research:

Engage directly with key user groups to conduct user research and usability studies. Create UX Deliverables:

Produce detailed wireframes, user flows diagrams, mockups, and UI-specs that effectively communicate design intentions to stakeholders and development teams. Collaborate Across Teams:

Work closely with product managers, engineering, and other cross-functional teams to translate designs into functional software. What you’ll do sometimes:

Develop and Maintain Design Systems:

Continuously update and maintain the design system, while onboarding and training new product managers and engineers to ensure effective and wide use of the system. Process and Tool Improvement:

Play an active role in contributing to the improvement of design processes, from ideation to execution, while helping to build and refine HeartFlow’s design foundation and long-term vision. Advocate for UX Best Practices:

Champion user experience best practices and maintain a strong command of industry trends. Why is this role important?

As a Senior UX Designer at HeartFlow, you will spearhead the creation of a novel web experience tailored for cardiologists, empowering them to deliver optimal patient care using HeartFlow. This new experience is pivotal to driving the adoption, growth, and retention of HeartFlow’s product suite, positioning you at the heart of our innovation and impact. What we're looking for:

Experience in UX design for web applications, with a strong portfolio that includes work on complex, data-heavy, and visualization-centric applications. Experience with front-end development technologies like Vue.js, Quasar, and responsive design principles. Proficiency in Figma and familiarity with other UX tools such as Miro, Balsamiq, and Adobe Creative Cloud. Some background in 3D modeling is preferred, adding a unique dimension to your skill set. Experience in healthcare, finance, or similarly regulated industries. Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt designs based on user feedback and analytics. Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and present ideas to stakeholders both internally and externally. Educational background:

A BA/BS degree in Design, HCI, Interactive media, design, or a related field is required. At least 5 years of professional experience in UX design, particularly in environments where quick prototyping and agile development are practiced. A reasonable estimate of the base salary compensation range is $100,000 to $152,500 (for all locations outside San Francisco Bay Area) and $130,000 to $180,250 (for San Francisco Bay Area), cash bonus, and stock options.
