Are you an experienced Design Manager with a strong background in healthcare or education projects? Are you ready to take on a challenging and rewarding role with one of the UK's leading main contractors? My main contractor client is seeking a skilled Design Manager to join their team to work on a state-of-the-art healthcare project in North East England. This groundbreaking facility, the first of its kind, is a large project (over £80M) and is at it's early design stage. Although this particular project is due to be completed in 2026, there is a strong pipeline of work lined up in the region that will provide job security to anyone joining the business. This is a challenging role due to the unique location and the specific requirements of the project, but it offers a fantastic opportunity for a career-oriented individual who is looking to make a real impact in the healthcare sector. Key Responsibilities: Lead and manage the design process for this large healthcare project.

Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, including architects, engineers, and subcontractors, to ensure design objectives are met.

Oversee the production of design deliverables, ensuring they align with project specifications, budgets, and timelines.

Liaise with clients, stakeholders, and statutory bodies to ensure all design work complies with relevant regulations and standards.

Manage design risks and resolve any issues that arise during the project lifecycle.

Ensure the project's design meets all security clearance requirements, including DBS and BPSS.

Requirements: Proven experience in managing design for healthcare or education projects or similar

Strong background working with main contractors.

Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.

Familiarity with NHS, MOD or DfE project requirements is a plus.

Must meet DBS and BPSS security clearance requirements.
