We are looking to appoint a dynamic, experienced, and highly motivated nurse to join our Motor Neurone Disease Community Nurse Specialist Palliative Care Team (LOROS). We provide care to individuals throughout Leicester, Leicestershire, and Rutland. The team also participates in training programmes for both professionals and non-professionals. There will be opportunities for self-development and involvement in service development and clinical audit. This post holder will act as a key worker and support patients with Motor Neurone Disease (MND) and their families from diagnosis to end of life. You will work alongside other members of the multi-disciplinary team both at LOROS and across the wider health and social care community, including the neurology department at UHL and social services. You will need to have well-developed interpersonal skills, experience, and be passionate about caring for patients with MND and/or other neurological conditions. Community experience and experience of supporting patients with palliative and end-of-life care needs would also be beneficial. Due to the nature of the role and visiting patients in remote areas, it is essential that you hold a current driving licence and have access to a car/transport for work purposes.
