Automation and Controls PLC Engineer
to join the amazing team at our Linford Block Plant, which is located close to Stanford-le-Hope in Essex. The site is easily accessible from Dagenham, Erith, Barking, Wanstead, Walthamstow, Woolwich, Greenwich, Dartford, Sidcup, London, Bromley, Sevenoaks, Chingford, Waltham Cross, Hackney and the surrounding areas. As our
Automation and Controls PLC Engineer , you will be responsible for developing and maintaining our site programmable logic controller (PLC) systems. You will work closely with the production and maintenance teams to troubleshoot issues, implement process improvements, and ensure seamless operation of automated systems and project engineering work. Your responsibilities will include (not exhaustive): Design and develop PLC programs for new and existing systems Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to PLC hardware and software Collaborate with production and engineering teams to implement system enhancements Conduct routine maintenance and updates to PLC systems Optimise PLC performance to improve manufacturing efficiency and reliability Own and lead the implementation of a Risk Based Assessment programme for all PLC systems on site to include current assets and future upgrades Ensure management of change practices are followed for all modifications, upgrades or project work to PLC related systems on site Have a proven track record of successful people management, management of engineering operations, delivering large scale CAPEX projects and managing large budgets Promoting the maintenance management system, ensuring the application of maintenance procedures, methods and best practices Assisting the Engineering department in achieving its budget targets through the efficient use of materials and replacement parts Develop and improve the knowledge and skills of engineers, fitters and apprentices by providing training and support on PLC systems and functionalities Involvement with maintaining Health and Safety rules and regulations and ensure all Safe Systems of Work are signed off and complied with leading towards a target of zero harm for personnel and contractors Lead in resolving complex technical issues or failures as they arise Continuous review of plant availability and performance, Identifying gaps, root causes and subsequent improvement activity The Ideal Candidate

- Qualifications/Requirements/Capabilities: ESSENTIAL
- BEng or MEng in a role related discipline - Electrical Engineering, Automation, or a related field Strong understanding of PLC hardware and software, including programming languages such as ladder logic Familiarity with industrial control systems and automation standards PLC Programming, Ladder Logic, SCADA, HMI Design, Electrical Circuit Design Automation Systems and Industrial Networking Why Us
