Victrex is thrilled to announce a vacancy for a Development Engineer to oversee and execute engineering projects and enhancements at the DFDPM plant, ensuring compliance with the SHE standards expected of an Upper Tier COMAH facility.

Responsibilities Manage the execution of minor capital projects, special revenue projects and plant modifications to meet requirements against specification, timescale, cost and to meet all relevant statutory and business engineering codes and regulations. Manage suppliers of contract engineering services ensuring that the level of service received is cost-effective, of high quality and enables site targets to be achieved. Provide project documentation to fulfill the requirements of the engineering department systems. Provide engineering technical support to the engineering team in order to resolve and/or eliminate production problems. Sourcing and purchasing materials and resources for project implementation via approved vendors. Develop and maintain documentation structures and systems to ensure information is current and readily accessible. Represent Rotherham on the Engineering standards committee to ensure that the required standards are maintained and updated so that they are in line with the site requirements. Provide shutdown planning support to ensure plans and work packages are suitable for efficient execution. Manage, coordinate and control external equipment suppliers, design contractors, installation contractors and service providers. As a member of the Rotherham Engineering team, the role is required to work alongside colleagues across all functions within Victrex. Skills and Qualifications Candidates should possess strong knowledge and relevant engineering experience, ideally within a project-based environment in the chemical industry. Experience with hazardous area electrical and mechanical equipment used in the process industry is essential. The ideal candidate will be a motivated self-starter with a methodical and systematic approach to job planning. They must have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, along with sound analytical and numeracy skills. Attention to detail is crucial, as is the ability to forge strong relationships with key stakeholders. Proficiency in Microsoft Office packages, especially EXCEL, and a working knowledge of AUTOCAD (desirable) are required. Familiarity with CMMS systems, particularly AX, is also desirable.
