Purpose of the Role: Integral member of the Aero Design team, responsible for designing aero surfaces and wind tunnel model components. Reports to the Senior Manager Aerodynamics Design Leader, closely collaborating with the Aero Design team, aerodynamicists, CFD, model makers, production team, Win Tunnel Technicians, R&D team, and Vehicle Engineering team. This role is factory based but may involve occasional travel. This role is predominantly carried out during standard working hours but sometimes includes additional hours and weekends. Role Dimensions: As an Associate in the Aero Design team, you will be responsible for designing race car aerodynamic surfaces, wind tunnel model parts, and assemblies. Playing a crucial role in supporting project execution, your primary responsibility is to collaborate with team members to ensure the timely and high-quality delivery of development projects. Principal Accountabilities: You will be familiar with CAD Methodologies, workflow and your development area, and be familiar with the Formula 1 Regulation for your development area. Be able to forecast simple projects’ lead times. Contributing to the design of the race car aerodynamic surfaces, wind tunnel model parts, and assemblies. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet project deadlines. Contributing to problem-solving and troubleshooting efforts. You will execute tasks in alignment with established engineering standards. Job requirements Knowledge, Skills and Experience: Degree in Mechanical/Automotive/Aeronautical engineering or related field experience. 3D CAD knowledge. Knowledge of engineering drawings. Formal student and industrial experience is beneficial. Strong proficiency with MS Office. Personal Attributes: Team player with strong interpersonal and communication skills. Clear and concise verbal and written communication. Well-organised – able to manage own time effectively. Desire to improve processes; proactive and initiative driven. Demonstrate ability to listen actively. Collaborate with team members to find mutually beneficial solutions. Thorough worker with good attention to detail. Respond appropriately to feedback and take necessary actions. Participate in team meetings to discuss progress and address challenges. Result-focused and driven.
