This role is ideally suited to an enthusiastic individual looking to start a career in Research & Development. GCSE/A levels is the minimum requirement for this role. On the ground training will be provided. This would suit an enthusiastic candidate eager to learn with strong attention to detail and an interest in the pharma environment. A Day in the Life of our Product Development (Formulation) Technician

Starting off: Working as part of a team in the development of drug delivery in a specialized production area and laboratory. Operating, maintaining, and cleaning laboratory and production equipment as required. Maintaining accurate records of lab work/experiments and production records. Working within the production area combining medicines and medical components, making capsules, tablets, and more complex drug delivery systems, including testing and packing, or calibrating instruments and assisting in sample stability management. Following written and verbal instructions. Communicating with other departments. Developing into: Assisting Scientist(s) in the development and testing of drug delivery systems, ranging from laboratory to production scale. Assisting in the functioning of the formulation laboratory and manufacturing areas, including calibration of equipment and maintenance of quality systems. Maintaining the Formulation Laboratory and Manufacturing areas to required standards. Maintaining quality systems within the department. Performing basic laboratory testing activities (such as weight tests, pH measurements, disintegration, refractive index, etc.). Calibration/Qualification of equipment. Performing duties by following written instructions in the form of SOPs and verbal instructions from Senior Formulation Technician(s) and/or Formulation Scientist(s). Carrying out other activities as assigned by Senior Management. Who we are looking for

Educated to GCSE level / A Level standard or equivalent. Science Technology Engineering Maths (STEM) or similar subjects desirable. Motivated and enthusiastic to start your career in a pharma environment. Do you have? Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, discounts, interest, proportions, percentages. Proven experience in following procedures and guidelines. Strong attention to detail. Willingness to work in a controlled environment. Good organizational and interpersonal skills. Effective written and oral communication skills. Ability to handle stressful situations while maintaining an even disposition. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Ability to effectively discuss information and respond to questions from managers and colleagues.
