Reporting to the Head of Technical Operations, you will be responsible for the management of the Mechanical Engineering team within our PFS and APT divisions. As part of the role, you will be responsible for ensuring that the Engineering and CAD teams achieve all proposals and project programme objectives. You will ensure that technical and programme objectives are met within the allocated project timing and budget constraints. You will be responsible for the appropriate product selection for individual Projects:
Use of corporate standard and harmonised products; Feedback from existing facilities; Research and development (liaison with other Durr Group Companies); Benchmarking.
As Technical Authority for Engineering and Design, you will provide mechanical engineering expertise for projects and proposals, ensuring compliance with engineering safety, technical and quality standards. You will ensure the use of up to date / Corporate standard engineering tools (CAD etc) to enable effective and efficient engineering in conjunction with Information Systems. You will attend and input into monthly Tech /Ops Dept meetings and input into, with attendance on request, at monthly Management meetings. You will be responsible for implementing a departmental strategy to ensure the future needs of the business are fulfilled. You will report to the Head of Tech Ops on all aspects of project and proposal progress and cost control. Your Skills
You will have proven managerial skills with the ability to motivate and achieve results within an Engineering environment. You will have the experience and ability to effectively plan and manage resources, both internal and sub-contract, for projects of varying size and scope. Experience of capital / process plant installation and 'brownfield' modifications, ideally from within an automation environment, and from automotive or related process industries such as water treatment, oil & gas, food processing is essential. Experience of conveyor systems would be an additional advantage. Experience of working within both office and site environments is required. You must have experience of setting and working towards strategic goals. You will have the ability to oversee all aspects of a project with good administration skills. You will have the ability to identify the root cause of a problem, apply a solution, and check that the solution has worked effectively. The ability to understand customer requirements and specifications with good commercial awareness is required. You will have an understanding of company financial reporting systems and the ability to manage project costs. You will be organised, methodical and have strong communication skills at all levels. You will be self-motivated and have the ability to prioritise and plan workloads and work under pressure to meet tight deadlines. You will have a flexible approach and be able to work independently and within a team. Based at our head office in Warwick, under a home / office hybrid working arrangement, you will need to be flexible with regard to travel and working time since this role could take you around both the UK and overseas.
