As a Mechanical Engineer, you will report into the Deputy Engineering Manager. You will ensure continuous running of the production machines by minimising downtime during day-to-day operations, PPM's, fault finding, and repair. Client Details

As a Mechanical Engineer, you will ensure continuous running of the production machines by minimising downtime during day-to-day operations, PPM's, fault finding, and repair by: Providing a right first-time maintenance service to promote high-quality products and services. Maintaining plant and equipment according to manufacturer's instructions. Identifying spare parts to effect repairs using machine manufacturer's manuals and ordering through stores. Maintaining engineering standards and records in accordance with ISO 9001 and 9002. Following up on outstanding issues to a successful conclusion. Carrying out weekly detailed inspections, maintaining logs, and defect report sheets. Maintaining and improving plant efficiency through planned PPMs of production machines. Completing detailed maintenance reports using a computer-based maintenance package. Reporting any dangerous occurrences or unsafe machine conditions. Carrying out SUSA discussions and monthly internal safety audits. Profile

Mechanical engineering apprenticeship (HNC/HND are desirable). IOSH/NEBOSH. FLT/cherry picker; if you don't have a licence, willing to be put through your licence. Welding and First Aid. Two years minimum experience in an FMCG production environment. Experience with steam systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, and PPM/TPM maintenance operations. Job Offer

Salary of

£46,716 . Current shift pattern is a 12-hour shift working across days and nights on a 36-hour working week. Additional benefits include: Generous production bonus paid monthly or yearly after the probation period (£3.5k in 2023). Opportunity of a £650 'Sign on Bonus' within the first 6 months. Generous contributory pension scheme which increases to 10% employer contribution after 2 years' service. BUPA private healthcare scheme after the probation period. Annual leave (increasing with service) up to 25 days plus public holidays. Long Service Award Scheme. Death in service up to four times basic salary. PPE provided. Free on-site car parking.
