As a Commercial Applications Engineer at Wayland Additive, based in Huddersfield, UK, you will play a key role in bridging the gap between our groundbreaking NeuBeam technology and the unique needs of our diverse clientele. You will work closely with customers to understand their specific requirements, provide technical expertise, and ensure the successful integration of our additive manufacturing solutions into their applications. While appropriate experience is highly desirable, even more important is an aptitude and mindset for innovation; learning and developing new techniques; and a willingness to collaborate closely both with customers and colleagues to find solutions to technical challenges. Engagement:

Collaborate with potential and existing clients to

understand their business needs and technical requirements for additive

manufacturing. Technical

Expertise:

Serve as the primary technical point of contact for

customers, providing insights into the capabilities and benefits of

Wayland Additive's NeuBeam technology. Material

Optimisation:

Work closely with customers to enhance and optimise

materials for the NeuBeam process, focusing on the development of process

parameters to enable the production of new materials. CAD

Experience:

Utilize your proficiency in CAD (Computer-Aided Design)

software for editing and repairing 3D models. Additionally, produce

exhibition parts for industry events. Hands-On

Operations:

Engage in hands-on responsibilities, including setting up

Wayland's Calibur 3 Machine for build jobs, and performing maintenance and

repairs on Wayland’s fleet of machines. Qualification:

Leverage your experience in material qualification to assess and qualify

materials produced by the Calibur 3 system. Benchmark

Production:

Produce benchmarks for potential customers, showcasing the

capabilities of Wayland Additive's technology. This includes proficiency

in build file preparation using additive manufacturing software such as

Netfabb and Magics. Training

and Support:

Provide training sessions and technical support to

clients, helping them effectively implement and utilize Wayland Additive's

technology in their operations. Problem

Solving:

Address and resolve technical challenges or issues faced by

customers during the integration and utilization of NeuBeam technology. Collaboration:

Liaise with internal teams, including engineering, sales, service, and

marketing, to communicate customer feedback, contribute to product

development, and support the overall growth of Wayland Additive. Documentation:

Maintain accurate records of customer interactions and technical

processes. Skills / Experience

Bachelor's

degree in Engineering, Material Science, or a related field. Advanced

degree preferred. Equivalent industry experience will also be considered. Proven

experience in additive manufacturing, preferably with a focus on metal 3D

printing technologies. Experience in electron beam additive manufacturing

is desirable. Strong

technical aptitude and the ability to understand and communicate complex

engineering concepts to diverse audiences. Excellent

interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build and

maintain strong relationships with clients. Proficient

in CAD software for editing and repairing 3D models, as well as producing

exhibition parts for industry events. Experience

in the development of process parameters to enable the production of new

materials in additive manufacturing. Problem-solving

mindset with the ability to adapt to evolving technical challenges. Willingness

to extensive travel worldwide as needed for customer visits, training

sessions, and industry events.
