We are looking to strengthen our Construction team with a Senior Commissioning Engineer, working initially on a project in Oswestry for United Utilities.

You will provide the required commissioning planning and control for the project, manage the team of MWH commissioning engineers and integrate with subcontractor commissioning staff.

You will report to the Regional Commissioning Manager and relevant site managers. You will deliver commissioning planning and commissioning activities through this team on site. You will also provide ownership of the commissioning process through all stages of the project and achieving efficient handover as far as it applies to commissioning outputs.

Key responsibilities will include:

Resource prediction and management for the project

Maintaining a realistic commissioning programme in collaboration with the project programme

Maintaining an up-to-date commissioning plan that reflects the scope and requirements of the project

Day-to-day delivery and coordination of all commissioning on site.

Effective engagement with client and operational staff to:

Obtain buy-in to proposed commissioning plans

Ensure the effective integration of assets into the existing works without detriment or risk to service level agreements.

Achieve fast and effective handovers (including the timely delivery of all commissioning documentation, training, etc).

Develop and operate an optimised interface with the MWHT engineering team to ensure “design for commissioning”.

Prepare training plans, organize specialist training by equipment suppliers and personally deliver training where appropriate.

Facilitate feedback of improvement information from commissioning.

Encourage and manage off-site testing and pre-commissioning activities by suppliers or others where appropriate.

Ensure Commissioning is carried out safely in accordance with regulations and procedures.

Ensure all necessary Commissioning documentation is produced in a timely manner and cooperate with Technical Documentation teams to ensure timely delivery of O&M manuals.

Contribute to efficiencies in commissioning

Operate tight change control procedures.

Minimum Requirements:

Relevant qualification at HNC/HND/degree (electrical, mechanical or process)

Extensive commissioning knowledge and awareness.

Previous track record in managing commissioning at site level

Mobile across the United Utilities region, able to travel when required.
