Job Summary We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Estimator to join our team. The successful Estimator candidate will play a crucial role in the preparation of cost estimates for projects, ensuring accuracy and adherence to budgetary constraints. This position requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively with various stakeholders to deliver precise estimates that align with project specifications. The successful Estimator will have worked on projects in multiple sectors including healthcare, education, and commercial, and are leading providers to UK Healthcare Imaging supplier. Duties Prepare detailed cost estimates for projects by analysing blueprints, specifications, and other documentation. Collaborate with project managers and engineers to gather necessary information for accurate estimating. Conduct thorough market research to determine material costs and labour rates. Monitor project costs throughout the lifecycle, providing updates and recommendations for cost control measures. Assist in the development of project budgets and financial forecasts. Prepare and present estimates to clients and stakeholders, addressing any queries or concerns. Maintain an organised database of past estimates for reference in future projects. Stay updated on industry trends, materials, and techniques that may impact estimating processes. Qualifications Proven experience as an Estimator or in a similar role within the construction or manufacturing industry is preferred. Strong understanding of cost control principles and practices. Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints and technical drawings. Excellent mathematical skills with a high level of accuracy in calculations. Strong estimating analytical skills with attention to detail. Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present information clearly. Proficiency in estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite is advantageous. A degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field is desirable but not mandatory.
