Network Enforcement Officer (Hybrid) needed in Chichester, £16.37ph

PAYE – Reference: RQ1439896 Location: Chichester but will involve travel across the County. The role is predominantly out on site across West Sussex but most likely to the Mid and east part of the County (Horsham, Crawley, Burgess Hill, Shoreham) depending on the business need. There will be some admin requirements and these can be done at an office or at home. The successful candidate must have a valid UK driving license. About the role:

You will work within a forward-thinking network management team responsible for delivering duties under the Network Management Act 2004 for the expeditious movement of traffic on the highway network and that of any neighbouring authorities. You will support the promotion of any initiatives and transport and traffic schemes including elements of the West Sussex Transport Plan.

To do so you will ensure that utility companies and other persons under Permit and/or licence, carry out works on the public highway safely and in accordance with the New Roads and Streetworks Act 1991, Traffic Management Act 2004 and Permit Scheme and other relevant legislation and policy.

You will also be responsible for responding to, and resolving, a range of customer issues relating to the licensing of temporary obstructions to the highway, and to take a lead in enforcement for infringements.

You will support the day-to-day activities of the Network Management Team and be the interface in respect of the provision of Network Management Compliance. You will achieve this by coordinating and minimising the impact of work sites on the highway network by permit condition to ensure that the work sites are run professionally.

The role will include undertaking site visits, which may mean being exposed to unpleasant environmental conditions, due to being outside.
