Committee Member Health, Care and Quality Committee Member at St Elizabeth's Centre Volunteer role (reasonable travel expenses paid)

Much Hadham, Hertfordshire (remote and on-site time commitment) About the role Our client exists to offer children and young people bespoke education, care and support services that maximise their opportunities to “live life to the full”. They’re looking to recruit knowledgeable and passionate individuals to join their Health & Care Quality Committee to support the board in fulfilling its oversight responsibilities. The Health & Care Quality Committee (HCQC) ensures that the charity as a whole has robust systems and processes in place, and is providing high standards of health and care for its service users. They also contribute to key stakeholder accountability. HCQC currently consists of 5 members from various professional backgrounds within health and care. HCQC, along with the Trustee Board and other committees, plays a vital role in achieving their mission, ensuring the charity makes the best use of its resources to meet its vision and purpose. What are they looking for? As a Committee Member, your expertise, skills, and life experience will help to further strengthen our governance structure in order to fulfil their mission.

They are particularly keen to hear from individuals with the following: Clinical background, ideally with recent medical or nursing experience Experience at senior level within an organisation High ethical standards and a commitment to corporate governance principles Sound judgement and the ability to provide independent, objective advice Excellent communication, interpersonal and leadership skills Suitability to work with children, young people & vulnerable adults Similar values and ethos with the ability to keep our mission at the heart of all that we do Time commitment This is a volunteer role and reasonable travel expenses will be paid. You will need to be able to comfortably contribute on average 12 days per year to committee duties. Committee Members serve up to a 4-year term of office and are expected to attend 4 - 6 HCQC meetings each year. How to apply Please complete an application form and upload an up-to-date CV on their website. All offers are conditional and subject to receipt of satisfactory pre-employment checks and references, including an enhanced DBS check. Please note they are not on a public transport route. Applications will be reviewed and interviews scheduled on a rolling basis; therefore, they recommend that you apply sooner rather than later. They reserve the right to close an advert if they receive sufficient applications ahead of the deadline. If you require reasonable adjustments at application or interview stage, please do let them know as soon as possible. Equality, Diversity & Inclusion Establishing a diverse and inclusive Board and Committees is of great importance to them; they welcome applicants from all backgrounds, reflecting their commitment to fostering a community built on mutual respect, inclusivity and shared purpose and ensuring that their Board and Committees reflect those who they serve. They would be particularly interested in applications from minority ethnic backgrounds and underrepresented groups. Safeguarding Our client is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, vulnerable adults, and young people. The successful applicant will be required to undertake an enhanced disclosure through the Disclosure and Barring Service. Some of our positions involve regulated activity relevant to vulnerable children, adults and young people. It is a criminal offence for people who are barred from working in regulated activity to apply for roles that require them to work unsupervised with that particular group. Their vacancies are exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974.
