We are seeking a Project Engineer to manage the technical development of the prototype derivative of the MAX battery energy storage system. This role represents a unique opportunity to lead the engineering development of a specific product within a rapidly growing and dynamic company. As the project engineer, you will coordinate the development and integration of mechanical, electrical and EV charging systems with internal teams and external suppliers. Workstreams within the programme will include product design, technical engineering across mechanical, battery systems, embedded software, data science and manufacturing – from scoping to delivery. This role requires a strong mechanical engineering focus, with the capability to deliver functional requirements on time and budget through effective project delivery. The ideal candidate will have a background in mechanical engineering, with experience with batteries or electric vehicles. You must be prepared to get involved with the CAD development of the system on SolidWorks. Responsibilities Project ownership of a prototype derivative of the Allye MAX, managing it through design, development, testing and assembly Accountable for programme quality, delivery, cost, features, technology and risks Coordination of the various workstreams with internal & external stakeholders Monitor project progress and identify any potential issues, taking corrective action Conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation plans to minimize potential risks Develop comprehensive functional and non-functional requirements at system level Oversee the review and approval of system, subsystems, and components Collaborate within a team of designers, engineers, and manufacturing specialists Coordinate with suppliers/project partners to ensure on-time, quality delivery Create and maintain all technical and project management documentation, including requirements, specifications, DFMEA, test plans, and project plans Manage the engineering design release process including technical design drawings Develop comprehensive BoM and reporting metrics, coordination of milestones reviews with key stakeholders. Qualifications
Must-haves Minimum bachelor’s degree in mechanical or electrical engineering 2-3 years of experience in managing battery projects in automotive or similar fields Strong project management skills and experience leading cross-functional teams. Solidworks experience and development of CAD models Experience with common project management tools and frameworks (GANTT, budget tracking, change management, V-Cycle, risks management, etc Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Display a strong self-motivation and the ability to collaborate within a team.
