Our Surveying Services Team plays a crucial role in ensuring the safety, sustainability, and improvement of our 16,000+ properties across the South East. About the Role As a Building Surveyor, you’ll be at the forefront of delivering exceptional surveying services. Reporting to an experienced Surveying Services Manager, you’ll work both independently and collaboratively to tackle a diverse range of property challenges. Expect variety and impact, as 60% of your time will be spent on-site conducting surveys and inspections. Your key responsibilities will include: Conducting property surveys and diagnosing defects, including damp, mould, structural issues, disrepair, and HHSRS/Fitness for Human Habitation assessments. Managing investment works, from project inception to completion, including procurement, tendering, and contract administration. Supporting Fire Risk Assessments and scoping remedial works, ensuring compliance with all regulations. Providing expert advice on structural alterations, party wall matters, and property-related disputes. Working with the Development Team on post-inspections, snagging, and defect management. Supporting junior colleagues and inspectors in their professional development. This is a pivotal role where your technical expertise, project management skills, and ability to work collaboratively will be key to our success. What You’ll Need We’re looking for a motivated professional with: Qualifications: A Building Surveying, Construction, or Engineering qualification (diploma, HNC, degree) with a minimum of 5 years’ post-qualification experience. Professional accreditation (RICS, CIOB, or RIBA) is desirable. Experience: Proven expertise in building surveys, defect diagnosis, and managing contractors and budgets. Experience with planned maintenance and JCT contracts is a plus. Technical Knowledge: Familiarity with housing legislation, CDM regulations, Decent Homes standards, and HHSRS assessments. Skills: Strong communication (written and verbal), time management, and problem-solving skills, with proficiency in MS Office and asset management tools. Flexibility: A methodical approach and adaptability to manage multiple projects and priorities. A valid driving license and access to a vehicle (insured for business use). Why Join Us?
