Cambridgeshire County Council is offering an exciting opportunity for a Commercial Career Progression Scheme in our Contracts and Commissioning Team within Project Delivery Service, part of Highways and Transport Directorate. The Commercial Career Progression Scheme promotes development within our Project Delivery team whether you are developing as an Assistant Quantity Surveyor or Quantity Surveyor. You will be responsible for commercial support for the delivery of a range of highways services and ensure we meet the requirements of the County Council and other clients whilst demonstrating value for money. Supporting the Group Manager Contracts and Commissioning and other managers within Place & Sustainability in delivering the Council and Directorate’s objectives through joined-up service planning and the flexible use of resources. The team will work with wider teams within Project Delivery to ensure the day-to-day delivery of services achieves quality, cost, and programme assurance while achieving a high level of stakeholder satisfaction. You will interface with internal and external client teams throughout the council and external clients for third-party works. About you

As a team, you will manage and provide professional advice on financial issues and apply cost procedures related to procurement and delivery. Supporting the development of the commercial function throughout Highways and Transport. The post is pivotal to adopting an improved commercially focused culture. Entry level is Quantity Surveyor with the opportunity to progress to Commercial Manager. Benefits
