Location: Quorum Business Park, Benton Lane, Newcastle upon Tyne, NE12 8BT, United Kingdom Rate: GBP375-425/day PAYE/CIS (Rate could be higher depending on experience) Duration: 6 months (5 days a week, 9 hours per day) Start Date: ASAP

Are you an experienced Quality Engineer looking to take on a challenging and rewarding role in the rail sector? Our client, a leading contractor in the construction industry, is looking for a skilled professional to join their Northumberland Rail Line project.

Role Overview: As a Quality Engineer, you will play a key role in ensuring the delivery of a high-quality project. You will be responsible for managing quality processes, conducting audits, and ensuring compliance with quality standards throughout the project lifecycle. This is a hands-on role, requiring a proactive approach to quality assurance and control.

Key Responsibilities:

Communicate project quality requirements and updates to the project team. Maintain and update Management System Documentation as the project progresses. Assist with quality audits, identifying issues, and providing informative reports. Manage the NCR (Non-Conformance Report) and defects registers, ensuring timely submission and resolution. Promote the NCR and defects registers within the team to drive timely actions. Review sub-contractor quality plans and ITPs (Inspection and Test Plans), ensuring they are approved before work begins. Assist with the Quality Readiness Review (QRR) process. Be an active member of the quality team, promoting a culture of excellence and quality behaviors across the project.

Skills & Qualifications:

Experience/knowledge of ISO 9001. CSCS card (essential). SMSTS qualification (ideal but not essential). HNC/HND or degree in Civil Engineering (desired but not mandatory). Strong knowledge and understanding of QA/QC principles and their application to projects, suppliers, and subcontractors.
