MAA is establishing a manufacturing facility in Telford, UK to design, build, commission and install assembly cells for both an internal and external customer base. Job Responsibilities

The Controls Engineer will be responsible for the design, development, commissioning and acceptance of automated assembly lines and machines. Full life cycle responsibilities of projects include: Designing to customer standards Producing a Functional Design Specification (FDS) HMI design and commissioning Safety matrix development Safety/run at rate buy-off activities Knowledge of electrical, pneumatic and communication network design Thorough knowledge of the safety requirements related to automated assembly lines Understanding of robot integration Experience in computer programming, robot programming, EPLAN and automated welding processes Your Responsibilities

Responsibilities include: Design and program complex automation solutions throughout project lifecycles, including supervising the installation at the customer's facility Creation of functional design specification Working on multi-line projects as part of a team Effective communications with Electrical, Mechanical, Process and Shop floor departments regarding design changes and issues Participation in Continuous Improvement activities across the department Effective management of program back-ups and version control Good management of design and commission time. Able to effectively hit project milestones A good team player, willing to assist other controls engineers on other projects Eliminate the risk of spill of non-conforming product through the processes with automated solutions Integration of cell upgrades through hardware and software additions Who We Are Looking For

You should have: A minimum 3 years’ experience programming automated production lines Extensive knowledge of PLC and HMI design and commissioning, TIA/Step 7 + Safety & Startdrive/Starter Fluency in ladder, graph and SCL languages Significant experience with Siemens WinCC/WinCC Flex and Allen Bradley/Rockwell software Advanced knowledge of DeviceNet, Ethernet/IP, ProfiNET, ProfiSAFE and other communication protocols Advanced knowledge of pneumatic safety principles and design Experience of resistance welding, electrical standards and latest safety standards Understanding of motion control and robot integration Ability to troubleshoot issues on automated manufacturing lines Revision & version management experience Ability to read and interpret electrical & pneumatic drawings Ability to carry out OEE calculations Continuous Improvement Activities experience Proven ability and willingness to train others It would be beneficial if you had: Experience in electrical design, panel design and/or panel building VBA and C# languages Experience with robot functions, hydraulic design knowledge WinCC Faceplate experience Previous Automotive T1 manufacturing experience Knowledge of IIoT/Industry 4.0 Your Preferred Qualifications

Qualified to a minimum HNC level or equivalent in Manufacturing/Electrical/Mechatronics Engineering. What We Offer
