Platform Engineer (DevOps/Networks) - Contract role - Remote Working - £competitive
Synergize Consulting are now hiring for a Platform Engineer to work at a leading consultancy client, as part of a large public sector programme, on a contract basis.
The successful candidate will be working within a dynamic Infrastructure team, providing engineering expertise into Network operations, and how this connects with maintaining DevOps environments.
Responsibilities include:
Monitor, upgrade and secure a number of large platforms
Work alongside a support team which hosts multiple applications
Provide DevOps technical support, and manage the operability of network infrastructure
Develop infrastructure-as-code (IaC) templates to build, test and fully integrate application components
Add additional functionality to the platform to support application team requirements
Experience required:
Strong background in platform engineering and DevOps engineering, with a knowledge of both infrastructure and apps hosting
AWS cloud provisioning experience
Networking knowledge which includes IAM and also threat/firewall products including Fortigate
Autoscaling experience in Cloud hosting
Terraform management experience
Previous experience in the public sector would be highly desirable
Due to the nature of the client, it would be an advantage for candidates to hold, or be eligible and willing to undergo a certain level of security clearance (SC).
