Opportunity for a Software Engineer to join our growing team of maritime experts. Location:

Chandlers Ford, Southampton Office OR London HQ, Marylebone. Reporting to:

Head of Software Development This role will be dedicated to translating the vision and plans set by the product management team into tangible product features and functionalities. You will be responsible for building and securing a scalable data platform capable of handling millions of incoming data points from thousands of ships and developing robust digital applications that can support thousands of users. Alongside Cloud Engineers, backend and front-end engineers, you will help in developing an event-driven Azure hosted data platform with back-end development done in C# and Python, as well as building strong back-end microservices to support the development of digital applications. From time to time, the software engineer might be required to take part in progressing front-end development. Experience / Qualifications Required: A minimum of 5 years of experience as a backend software engineer, with a degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field. Extensive expertise in C#, with additional proficiency in Python being advantageous. Proven experience in working with ORM tools such as SQL Alchemy or Django in Python, or EF Core in C#. A strong mindset for unit testing with experience using xUnit, pytest, React Testing Library, and Jest. Experience with data science, including data analysis, statistical modelling, and machine learning. Proficiency in working with data manipulation tools and libraries. Significant experience working in a DevOps environment and with CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps and experience with Azure in general. Experience in implementing feature flag software releases and developing software in an agile environment.
