MBDA has a number of unique Simulation Engineer opportunities, to join our Hardware-in-the-Loop (HWIL) Team at our Stevenage site!
Job Title : Simulation Engineer
Salary : Up to circa £55,000 depending on experience
Location : Stevenage (we may be able to offer a relocation package for this role)
Dynamic (hybrid) working : typically, 4 days per week on-site, due to workload classification
Security Clearance : British Citizen or a Dual UK national with British citizenship.
Restrictions and/or limitations relating to nationality and/or rights to work may apply. As a minimum and after offer stage, all successful candidates will need to undergo HMG Basic Personnel Security Standard checks (BPSS), which are managed by the MBDA Personnel Security Team.
The opportunity:
As a Simulation Engineer, you will conduct the most complete test of missiles (other than a firing) and are MBDA's Missile test track. We design complex, real-time simulations that surround real missile hardware to allow us to fire missiles indoors.
Build and develop complex, real-time simulations for missile testing.
Conduct indoor firings and analyse missile performance.
Adapt to new engineering situations and abstract detail to understand the simulation and missile behaviour.
Collaborate with teams from various departments to ensure seamless integration and interface debugging.
Analyse system performance and provide solutions for optimisation.
Apply software design principles for real-time applications.
Work with the Linux operating system and programming languages like C/C++.
Use microcontrollers, like Raspberry Pi, for system development.

A broad engineering experience with deeper experience in
some
(not necessarily all) of the following: Proven experience in software design for real-time applications. Familiarity with Linux operating system. Familiarity in C / C++ programming languages. Experience with microcontrollers, such as Raspberry Pi. Ability to analyse system performance and provide optimisation solutions. Strong debugging and problem-solving skills.
