Apply locations Great Yarmouth, UK time type Full time posted on Posted 6 Days Ago job requisition id JR100684 Provide high reliability microelectronics product and circuit design expertise in support of new product introductions as well as enhance and optimise aspects of design for existing products.

Main Responsibilities:

Be the engineering lead for specific products and projects Provide support for current and new products in manufacturing Produce PCBA and thick film hybrid circuit designs for new customer owned and customer funded products based on customer design requirements Generate full drawing packs and associated manufacturing documents to support the above Update drawings and associated manufacturing document packs Technical engagement and liaison with customers and design partners to ensure designs meet requirements Participate in cost saving and continuous improvement activities Actively improve or optimise aspects of design, function or processing of existing key products Support other departments as required with issues relating to existing designs or testing and formulate effective solutions Undertake any other duties and responsibilities as required to maintain and/or improve the efficiency, quality and service of the engineering team. Qualifications: Bachelor or Masters Degree in Electronics Engineering or equivalent qualification/experience Knowledge and Experience: Strong electronics engineering background Proven experience in electronics design and circuit layout Practical understanding of microelectronics assembly High reliability microelectronics design and development experience Software design and programming Experience in aerospace or industries with similar requirements Working knowledge of any of the following Pantheon / Eagle / AutoCad / Solidworks / Cam350 / GC Powerplace (desirable) Familiarity with PCBA techniques, thick film hybrid technologies and electronic test methodologies (desirable) Experience with ERP / MRP systems (desirable) Competencies: Excellent diagnostic and problem-solving capability Meticulous attention to detail and a methodical approach to work High initiative requiring minimal prompting Willingness to learn and develop Good communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work as member of a multi-disciplinary team Ability to cope with new and changing demands Ability to deal with ambiguity Other requirements: SC cleared or ability to obtain Role is office based with limited and occasional home working Occasional travel to other Spectrum Control sites and customers as required What we can offer you: Flexible working practices – we work a 9-day fortnight, offer hybrid working (role dependent), flexitime, and work a half day Friday 25 days holiday (plus bank holidays) with the option to buy up to 5 additional days Health cash plan – cash back for everyday health expenses Private healthcare (role dependent) Pension scheme with 6% employer contributions Life assurance – 4 x annual salary Reward and recognition platform Discount platform – retail, leisure, gym discounts and more Employee assistance programme with access to confidential counselling services Support for further training and education Relocation assistance up to £8,000 if you relocate to take up a position with us Equal Opportunity Employer/Protected Veterans/Individuals with Disabilities
