Execute and coordinate projects, providing high quality technical design Produce technical design information including drawings, calculations, specifications and reports Review and approve reports, designs, drawings, sketches and calculations in accordance with quality procedures Manage the preparation of feasibility studies and reports Undertake surveys and produce reports giving findings, discussion, conclusions and recommendations Undertake the project management and financial control of small and medium sized projects Liaise effectively with clients, local authorities and other design team members Supervise and monitor the use of computer-based systems to ensure these are used correctly Supervise and support junior members of the team Assist in the preparation of bids and proposals Adhere to existing working practices, methods and procedures Proactive in self-development Prepare design and progress reports Deliver agreed business development targets Assist the marketing department Obtain and review quotes for investigation works Manage the appointments and work of sub-contractors carrying out investigation works Coordinate work undertaken by external sub-contractors Attend and input at design meetings and site meetings, and record actions Undertake site inspections, record findings and advise on any required actions University degree in building surveying Proven track record of project design and management, party walls, report writing, contract administration, building surveys, landlord and tenant matters Experience in delegating and supervising junior team members Good organisational/time management skills Commitment to continual improvement at a personal and company level Conversant in traditional and modern building methods and building types Conversant in the use of traditional and historic building materials Conversant with Building Regulation standards Conversant with Party Wall Award, landlord and tenant building contracts and CDM Able to use computer design software packages an advantage but not essential Experienced in new build projects Experienced in refurbishment projects Conversant with JCT building contracts Good construction knowledge Experienced in undertaking building surveys on buildings of variety of ages, type and condition Able to develop different design solutions and appraise those produced by others Appreciation of contractual obligations Ability to identify and define building defects and construction problems Able to produce accurate and clear sketches to communicate building of construction related matters Experience in the production of specifications and technical reports and feasibility studies Salary will be a competitive package, commensurate with experience.
