We are recruiting individuals with investigative experience to join us as Police Consultant Volunteers in our Investigation Teams. We are looking for individuals to volunteer a minimum of six hours a week between the hours of 07:00 and 21:00 Monday to Sunday at Wray Park, Reigate. To apply for this role you will need to have a practical understanding of disclosure and the Criminal Procedure and Investigation Act (CPIA) 1996. Police Consultant Volunteers will work collaboratively with police officers and staff to expedite investigations and enhance the service provided to Surrey's communities. By undertaking this role, you will support the following activities: conducting enquiries gathering and reviewing evidence obtaining witness statements responding to queries and providing updates regarding investigations More information about the responsibilities of this role can be found in the role profile attached to the bottom of this advert. Skills & Experience

Police Consultant Volunteers will need to have a willingness and desire to support the police and the public, with great attention to detail and excellent communication skills. To apply, you will need to have investigative experience and an understanding of disclosure and CPIA 1996. An accreditation in Professionalising Investigation Programme 2 (PIP2) is desirable, but not essential. As part of a proactive policing team, you will need to be able to work independently and collaboratively, to plan and prioritise key tasks. Previous experience of using Microsoft Office programmes and police incident recording systems such as Niche would be beneficial for this role as you will need to use these each time you volunteer.
